The "textile printing and dyeing" we often refer to generally refers to dyeing factories and printing factories, and printing factories often refer specifically to water printing factories. Of course, there are many printing processes in the textile market. In addition to watermarks, digital printing, transfer printing, and pigment printing are also common. March and April are peak seasons for the textile and watermark markets, but this year's overall market performance is unsatisfactory.
On the one hand, the operating rate of dye printing factories has slowly recovered after many years. On the other hand, the operating rate is hovering below 90%. In the same period last year, the operating rate reached 95% in the early stage and even remained at 100% for a long time. However, by comparing the operating rate of watermarking plants, we can find that the operating rate of more than 85% is no longer reachable.
April is the peak season for the textile industry. Although the overall market situation this year is not as good as in previous years, the situation in the watermark market is completely off-season. In fact, as early as last year, the fatigue of the watermark was obvious.
Anyone familiar with the textile market knows that orders for water printing are basically silk-like products. Because silk fabrics are often used in spring and summer women's clothing, how to express the beauty of light and thin fabrics are naturally inseparable from printing. However, the order situation of silk fabrics has not been good in recent years.
Last year, due to the epidemic's impact, the global spring and summer apparel market was deeply affected. Naturally, orders for such fabrics also fell sharply. Common silk-like products such as chiffon, hemp, etc., and some textile companies have more than 1 million meters of inventory, and most of these products are put on the market at low prices.
The number of orders for the weaving and dyeing factory is minimal, so the printing and dyeing factory turnover is naturally minimal. Of course, not only the stability of printing and dyeing fabrics but also the price of water printing.
Lack of orders for imitation silk, shrinking demand for water printing
Water printing costs have risen, while digital printing is taking advantage of the momentum.
In mid-April, a director of a water printing factory revealed that he no longer served as the original director of the water printing factory but started his own business and opened a digital printing factory. At present, most customers choose between watermarking and digital printing, which may be the same as the factory manager; the main reason is the price.
Judging from the current market conditions, the cost of digital printing is basically lower than that of water printing. Driven by price, customers will naturally choose cheaper digital printing, not to mention other advantages such as convenient proofing, diverse colors, precise patterns, and fast production speed.
According to a trader, they have a lot of printing orders this year. For this reason, they have especially found a documentary to focus on printing, but except for a small amount of water printing, the others are all digital printing. In addition to sublimation printing, the popularity of DTF printing has also risen recently, and more people choose this method for simple operation, manpower saving, and a wide range of applications.
Nowadays, because of the mature digital technology and more and more digital printing factories, the investment in digital printing is also lower every year. At the same time, the production process is relatively simple and fast, and customers are generally more welcome.
